Jessica Cottis showcases the best of Australia’s classical music tradition

She was an acclaimed organist and pianist. But after suffering from the carpal tunnel syndrome, Jessica Cottis was forced to abandon her profession but would eventually find success in conducting. Today, she’s the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since 2021.

With epic performance, Manfred Honeck demonstrates his mastery of Bruckner’s Ninth

On Thursday last week, the acclaimed Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck – who is the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director – demonstrated his absolute respect for his compatriot during an epic performance of Bruckner’s Symphony No. 9 with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at The Kennedy Center.

Some three decades after Dean Martin’s passing, his daughter, Deana Martin, continues to celebrate his legacy through her own concert tour across the country. Later this year, she will be traveling to Australia where – as always – her father’s beloved melodies– such as ‘That’s Amore,’ Valore, and Memories Made of This, will be performed. But her musical style is very within the swing genre.
